Crunch Pop Art Paper Mache
Date: High School Senior, 2009-10
Time: Many hours
Materials: Newspaper; Liquid Starch; Paint
Description: Four pictures of different angles of a Nestle Crunch Candy Bar paper mache project. There is a dragon claw wrapped around the name. There is also a real penny next to it to show its size.
Artist’s Comments: In Art 2, the assignment was to create “pop art” with paper mache. We needed to pick a candy bar to copy or make up our own candy. I chose Crunch so that I could put a dragon claw design in there that fit with the name. I put a penny in each photograph so you could see the size of it. A few people said it looked so realistic, they thought it was a pillow!
I do not claim to have designed the Nestle Crunch Candy Bar.
I added a dragon claw to the original design. I put the entire shape together with newspaper, I painted it by hand. I took the pictures.
