Dragon 18
Date: High School Senior, February, 2010
Time: 30 minutes (?)
Materials: Mechanical 0.9 Pencil
Description: A pencil sketch of a dragon in flight, turning in the air with its wings in the middle of flapping.
Artist’s Comments: Felt like practicing dragons again after a month of not drawing with pencil much (I was working in PhotoShop more). I was going to shade it, but I wanted to keep the line art, and was unable to trace at the time, and in the end, I never did shade it.
I was focused on drawing a different angle for the wings so that they are not just straight up in the easiest position to draw them, but more of a three-dimensional angle.
