Dragon 4
Date: High School Junior, March, 2009
Time: Several minutes (?)
Materials: Mechanical 0.9 Pencil
Description: A pencil doodle/sketch of a right hand and a dragon. The hand is coming out from behind the dragon’s farthest wing. The dragon is like a Chinese dragon in that it has the legs of a chicken, but it also has wings, which Chinese dragons do not tend to have. One of the four chicken legs is holding an orb that looks like it’s glowing with the dark shading the surrounds it. There is gray shading in the back of the dragon so that it would stand out more. There is a mark around the dragon’s cheek, possibly making it look more mysterious.
Artist’s Comments: I was just doodling, looking for something to draw. I tried to practice drawing my hand again, but it was so boring that I just drew a bunch of random lines all over the page. While staring at the lines, I started to see the shape of a dragon. So I drew in the dragon that I saw, and added the legs and stuff, and poof! Random dragon next to a random hand.
I really like the way I did the feet of the dragon on this. They are the best feet I have ever done on dragons.
