Hands
Date: High School Senior, 2009-10
Time: Several hours
Materials: Mechanical 0.9 Pencil; Thin-Tipped Marker; Crayola Colored Pencil
Description: Four hands coming toward the center of the page from each side of the page. All hands are reaching for a blue egg in the center. The hands are covered in designs that follow the contour lines to make them look more three dimensional. There are also several dragons flying around the page that look like they are attacking the hands and protecting the egg in the center. One of the dragons is wrapped around the center. Everything is in black, white, and gray, except for some parts that are blue. The only blue things are the egg, the fire, and two beams of light coming out of the egg.
Artist’s Comments: This was my first project in Art 2, my very first art class. The assignment was to draw hands coming from all four sides of the page, and to make a detailed background. I was in the mood for dragons, so I drew them fighting the hands.
