Ghost
Date: High School Sophomore, 2008
Time: Several hours
Materials: Mechanical 0.9 pencil
Description: Pencil drawing of a white limbless and torso-less ghost; it is only a head and a trailing tail. It is floating in a box outlined in black while it looks up hopefully. Below it is dark cartoon-looking fire, above it is light shining down from the darkness around it.
Artist’s Comments: This used up two sticks of mechanical 0.9 pencil. It was a time where I felt invisible and started to relate to myself as a ghost. I also started thinking more about ghosts and their stereotype. An entity that is trapped between two worlds. Sometimes longing to go to one particular world, or searching for answers there.
