Fantasy in Reality
Date: College Third Year, Summer 2012
Time: Many hours separated across several weeks.
Materials: Crayola Colored Pencil
Description: A multicolored dragon walking on the beach. There is a large sunset in the background along with a window and a clock. The clock is set at 10 o’ clock, and the window has a moonset to go with the sunset. There are palmtrees on both sides of the picture with a bookcase behind one of them on the left. There is a large book at the bottom of the page, showing that you are reading the book and seeing this scene beyond the book. There are aso mountains in the distance. Flowers, ocean, sea, waves crashing, rainbow, colorful, scales, stars, night, day, reading, fantasy, imagination, imaginary, grass, sand, spikes juxtapose.
Artist Comments: As usual, I wanted to draw a dragon, but I wanted to make it more interesting and felt like doing another art piece with bright crayola colored pencil colors. I wanted to make it look like you were reading a fantasy book and saw the environment in the room you were reading it in. I decided to try to make a mix of fantasy and reality in the same picture and make it seem as realistic as possible. I’m fairly happy with the colors I used.
